Mainenance Worker
The typical season for Manzanar National Historic Site is the beginning of May until the end of October, but can be variable during these months due to project requirements or weather conditions. Assist journey-level, or other higher graded maintenance workers in the maintenance, repair, and construction of buildings and facilities in at least two areas such as:
carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and equipment. Constructs, maintains and repairs buildings, structures, and housing facilities. Prepare and paint interiors and exteriors of buildings. Cleans bathrooms etc. Makes measurements using a tape measure and a square Read and interpret various manuals and instructions. Comprehend and follow oral instructions and established safety protocols and policies. Use hand tools of the trade for making carpentry repairs. Operate motor vehicle up to l ton to transport materials and personnel in a variety of traffic and road conditions. Operate custodial tools and equipment etc. Use painting materials such as paint thinner, paints, varnish, stains, sealers , fillers etc. Perform minor plumbing tasks such as tightening or replacing fixtures and fittings, which do not require custom fittings or soldering. Performs electrical repairs on buildings, such as replacing outlets, switches, and fixtures etc. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-05/08/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
